Upper School Division Director
Rumsey Hall School is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and visionary Upper School Division Director to lead the upper school. The Upper School Division Director will oversee grades 6 to 9, ensuring the academic, social, and emotional development of students in a vibrant and nurturing environment. This role involves collaborating with faculty, parents, and administrative staff to foster a community of excellence, innovation, and inclusivity. The Division Director will also have the opportunity to teach a class in the upper school and be a part of the residential life experience.

Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications
Position Overview:
Rumsey Hall School seeks a dynamic, highly motivated, and creative Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Assistant Director will be responsible for crafting compelling content, managing digital platforms, and developing innovative strategies to enhance the school’s visibility and strengthen its brand. The ideal candidate will be a skilled communicator and creative professional with expertise in social media engagement, content creation, website management, and visual storytelling. This role requires a proactive self-starter, detail-oriented individual who can balance multiple priorities, and thrives in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Storytelling and Content Creation:
- Identify, conceptualize, and bring to life stories that highlight the breadth of the Rumsey Hall experience.
- Create, write, and edit engaging content for weekly news stories, web pages, social media, email communications, and targeted campaigns.
- Capture, produce, and curate high-quality photos and videos of campus life, events, and student activities.
- Social Media Management:
- Develop and execute innovative, mission-aligned social media strategies across platforms.
- Create, curate, and manage content that maintains a consistent voice and aesthetic.
- Design and Visual Content:
- Design visually compelling materials for print and digital platforms using Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
- Maintain and organize the school’s digital media library for easy access and use.
- Website and Email Marketing:
- Serve as a primary content manager for the school’s website, ensuring updates are timely, accurate, and on-brand.
- Collaborate on the development and implementation of email marketing campaigns, including segmentation and analytics tracking.
- Campus Engagement:
- Attend school events (including some evenings and weekends) to document and promote Rumsey Hall’s vibrant community and be actively involved in campus life to authentically capture and share the Rumsey Hall experience.
- Collaborate closely with the Admissions, Advancement, and School Leadership teams, as well as other key stakeholders, to ensure alignment of messaging and to support strategic initiatives that advance the school’s mission and goals.
- Project Management:
- Develop and maintain content calendars to manage communication deliverables.
- Ensure the timely execution of projects by coordinating with internal teams and external vendors.
- Anticipate needs and take initiative to complete tasks independently.
- Data and Performance Analysis:
- Monitor analytics for social media, website, and email campaigns, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Track market trends and campaign performance to inform strategies.
- Budget and Planning:
- Assist with departmental budget management, including credit card reconciliation, vendor invoicing, and tracking receipts and project budgets.
- Assist the Director with planning and executing the school’s integrated marketing plan.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, fine arts, multimedia/graphic design, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role preferred, ideally in an educational or nonprofit setting.
- Proficiency in social media platforms and analytics tools.
- Expertise in graphic design and content creation tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva).
- Strong photography and video production skills.
- Proficient in website management platforms.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- A proactive, energetic, and creative approach to work.
- Strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail and design.
- Strong storytelling skills to connect with diverse audiences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation:
Salary range, commensurate with experience. This position includes some evening and weekend responsibilities.

Position Description:
The primary role of a Dorm Parent at Rumsey Hall is to supervise the physical safety and emotional development of the residential students under their care in the evenings and on weekends.
Dorm Parents are expected to create a positive living and learning environment and to provide structure and mentoring to a group of students under their care. Dorm Parents are responsible for educating students on the expectations and rules of living in a dormitory environment and enforcing the School’s policies and expectations for students.
Dorm parents will receive training from the Director of Residential Life and start by working with experienced dorm parents.
Job Type: Part Time Substitute Dorm Parent.

Psychiatrist/Psychiatric APRN Consultant
Job Title: Psychiatrist, Psychiatric APRN
Position Type: Consultant, Part-Time
Reports To: Director of the Health Center
Rumsey Hall School is an independent, coed junior boarding and day school in Washington Depot, CT. The School has over 300 students in grades Kindergarten through 9th Grade. Students are valued and celebrated for their unique gifts, diverse learning styles, and innate character. Currently we are seeking a Psychiatrist or Psychiatric APRN to work on a consulting basis with our boarding school population (ages 12-15).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assess and screen patients by conducting psychiatric evaluations, including interviews, medical histories, physical exams, observations, and psychological testing.
- Prescribe medications according to diagnosis.
- Monitor patients to determine efficacy and potential side effects of medications.
- Develop a treatment plan, measure progress against the plan, and make adjustments as needed.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed to the School.
- Complete all necessary clinical documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
- Collaborate with a broader team of physicians, school counselors, therapists, nurses and administration to assess and adjust treatment plans.
Requirements:
- Current and valid board certification in psychiatry or current Psychiatric APRN certification
- Medical or Advanced Nursing degree from an accredited school with completion of an approved psychiatric residency
- Licensed to practice in the State of CT
- Current DEA registration
- Excellent knowledge and familiarity with current DSM criteria
- Familiar with crisis assessment tools and techniques
- Strong working knowledge of general psychiatric principles and practices
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
